Ultrasonic flow meters calculate water flow using the acoustic time-of-flight method. They calculate the multi-layered average flow velocity by measuring the time difference between the transmission and reception of ultrasonic signals by a multi-channel transducer deployed underwater, and then calculate the flow rate based on the relationship between water level and cross-sectional area obtained from on-site cross-sectional measurements.
Integrating data acquisition, storage, processing, analysis, transmission, and communication functions, these flow meters are widely used in hydrological, water diversion, hydropower, water resources, and irrigation projects, and are applicable to water diversion projects, water fee settlement, and water resources management in the fields of water conservancy, hydropower, and municipal engineering.
